How our initiative works
We screen and test our UF community for COVID-19, to help make our campus and our community safer.
State of Florida Department of Health public health specialists trace, or locate, all people in contact with the individuals who tested positive, and provide guidance to them to be tested and/or to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms.
If a test comes back positive, we ask the individual to isolate.
We prevent the spread of the disease by encouraging vaccination and continuing best practices such as frequent handwashing, physical distancing and wearing masks when unvaccinated.
If you are currently experiencing symptoms such as cough, runny nose, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, diarrhea or shortness of breath: Go or stay home, isolate yourself and call the appropriate office for guidance, which may include your primary care physician/provider, to be evaluated.
