Trust in Trying Times: Results from a national public opinion survey about American perceptions of COVID-19 and trust in science

On Tuesday, March 9 at 11 AM Eastern Time, the UF/IFAS PIE Center shared information and an education toolkit that will be very helpful in educating the public about COVID vaccines. Please consider tuning in to learn about this toolkit.

This webinar described American perceptions of COVID-19 and trust in science. The speakers presented findings from a nationwide sample of public opinion data collected between January 8 and January 21, 2021 and focused on topics about willingness to get the COVID-19 vaccine, attitudes toward the vaccine, and the associations between trust in science and the vaccine. The presenters showed longitudinal comparisons between vaccine attitudes from the beginning of the pandemic and the most current public opinion research.

A new communication toolkit related to the COVID-19 vaccines was introduced in this webinar. The toolkit was developed in partnership with the PIE Center and the Southeastern Coastal Center for Agricultural Health and Safety. The toolkit includes extensive info sheets that address many commonly asked questions about the COVID-19 vaccines, social media content, a customizable newsletter, and best practices for communication.
